Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia named after Patrice Lumumba, the primary mission of which was to train skilled professionals with higher education for developing countries of Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Arab East, was established February 5, 1960. The University still keeps to this purpose, along with training professionals for autonomous areas and regions of Russia. In 1992, the University was renamed as the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia.

For most countries in Latin America Simon Bolivar is not only representing freedom from the colonial past, but also the national idea that in different countries has overcome an excellent, complex and long path of development and formation. Another important fact is that S. Bolivar was a Creole, and the liberation movement was initiated by the followers of the Spaniards. It was then picked up all over the continent and evolved over time to be used by the local population.

LIMA, PERU (01/SEP/2013)-the fossil remains of a so-called flying fish, which would have lived more than 100 million years ago in the North of Peru, was discovered by a team of experts from the Museum of natural sciences of Chiclayo, a local newspaper reported today.

Carlos Zárate paleontologist and geologist Antonio Peláez found in an area of quarries in the District of Zana, province of Chiclayo, a backbone of 5.9 cm with six dorsal vertebrae and ribs, attached to a flap that caught the attention of explorers, according to the newspaper "The Republic".

Obama and Humala agree on educational exchanges

11 JUN. 2013. The presidents of the United States, B. Obama, and Peru, O. Humala, agreed today to promote educational exchanges between the two countries and strengthen cooperation against the "scourge" of the drugs.

"The state of our relationship is very strong," summarized Obama after receiving Humala in the Oval Office at the White House.

Both pledged to promote educational exchanges within a program created by the Obama administration to have 100,000 American students in the United States and the same number of Americans in Latin America.
