The fossil of alleged flying fish has been discovered in the North of Peru
LIMA, PERU (01/SEP/2013)-the fossil remains of a so-called flying fish, which would have lived more than 100 million years ago in the North of Peru, was discovered by a team of experts from the Museum of natural sciences of Chiclayo, a local newspaper reported today.
Carlos Zárate paleontologist and geologist Antonio Peláez found in an area of quarries in the District of Zana, province of Chiclayo, a backbone of 5.9 cm with six dorsal vertebrae and ribs, attached to a flap that caught the attention of explorers, according to the newspaper "The Republic".
